Artificial Sports Surfaces
Quality Sports Surfaces Around The Globe
LTS offers a one stop solution. From an empty plot of land, we can build a complete facility to include all civil engineering – earthworks, drainage, base construction whether a dynamic or an engineered layer & of course the actual shock pad & artificial sports surface. Ancillary items such as fencing, floodlights, car parking, spectator areas & clubhouses may also be added.
Once installed a full maintenance package can be offered to keep the new investment in tip-top condition for many years to come.
So what type of surfaces are available from LTS? In no particular order we can offer:
Macadam
A budget level surface that can be left “black” & line marked only or fully coloured coated with lines. Another truly multi-sports surface bit like a sand-filled surface but without the cost of that surface. Sometimes used as a staging post for some clubs on the way to installing a suitable artificial surface on top when funds allow. Very durable & less maintenance required than on other surfaces. Be careful not to fall on macadam though – ouch!
3g Pitches
A surface that arrived in the UK in the late 1990’s & has totally transformed the way we play football on artificial surfaces. Pile height between 40-65mm the infill is a mixture of siliceous sand on the bottom & rubber crumb on top. With a suitable thicker shock pad can also be used for rugby.
Pitches come in all shapes & sizes from very small MUGA’s areas eg 40 x 20m up 7-a-side football pitches normally around 60 x 40m up to full-size hockey/football pitches around 7000m2 in size.
7 Steps For Your Sports Pitch Installation
All initial enquiries will require a site visit from one of our expert members of staff & we can take you through the LTS checklist of requirements.
Stage 1
Visit site & meet the client. Agree on scope of works, ideally obtain a copy of the standard bill of quantities that all contractors will quote against so “apples v apples”.
Stage 2
Provide a full costing for the total works required with a full spec of all civil engineering work plus shock pad/artificial sports surface options – agree the project design.
Stage 3
Client to obtain planning permission for the project.
Stage 4
Client places order for the project with contractor.
Stage 5
Contractor agrees pre-start site visit leading to a final project start date.
Stage 6
Contractor carries out the agreed project.
Stage 7
Contractor completes & hands over project to client.
LTS appreciate that either a replacement surface or a full build can be a serious investment & wish to ensure that a world class facility is carried out & handed over on time.
Pitches can be built to meet FIFA/FIH/ITF/IRB Regulation 22 etc
